A Passionate Jack of All Trades
Building creative design solutions is my passion and I work hard everyday to grow my skills. I attended Calvin College where I learned about video production and photography and recently I attended Central Michigan University to learn about advertising and graphic design.
I believe in the power of collaboration and hard work. Every creative challenge is an opportunity to make an impact. While I worked at Taproot Pictures, I helped shoot and record audio for a short documentary “1000 Mile Dream” which gained a Vimeo Staff Pick and won several awards. I also got to take photos of their merch after they rebranded their logo.
My knack for photography got me a position at Neogen, where I was a product photographer for five years. I got to work with complex products that would test food for bacteria, fungi, and allergens, and I had to photograph those products in a way that showed them in a creative and interesting look while also exhibiting what they did.
After losing my position during a restructuring, I got to reinvent myself and I got to explore another passion of mine: graphic design and advertising. I love being in the room with a team deciding how to solve a creative challenge, which is exactly what I got to do for a class project where we designed a campaign to boost campus visits with the tagline I came up with. Our campaign received the highest compliments in class. I was very proud of my team and the work we were able to accomplish.
Wherever I am, I seek to challenge myself and grow in my abilities. In a world full of digital noise, having a bold creative vision is a must. I hope you find these projects as fun and interesting as I did.
